We had the opportunity that we have been waiting for yesterday. To meet the newest addition to the family, our niece and the boys’ newest cousin – Hailey. She’s so cute, such a little angel, it’s so hard to remember how little a new born is, so peaceful and perfect.

We also had fun playing around with Emily, the Superstar, and celebrating her 2nd birthday. Here’s a picture of the boys with their cousin.

Here are some more pictures of the boys and Emily.

So a great big thank you for a really good dinner and a fun afternoon and evening. And a word of advice for my brother:

Bill, you shouldn’t play around with someone else’s camera  ;) (Good pictures Tyler)

You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.

This morning we increased by one. Another beautiful little girl became a part of the family this morning. Hailey Grace celebrated her birth day today.

Congratulations to my brother Bill and my great sister-in-law Lily! Congratulations to Emily on becoming a big sister!

Little Miss Emily

Our niece Emily came for her first visit to Vermont this weekend. From the look on her face, it appears that she had a good time. It was great to spend time with her and remember what it’s like to have a baby around the house. The boys were enchanted (is it any wonder?) with her and it was cute to watch all those boys oogling and oggling all over her. Even their friend was  taken with her.

It was fun to catch up with my brother and sister-in-law and my mom. Although we didn’t do much (except eat) it was fun just hanging around with them.

Our niece was born on Friday evening. Emily Rae came into this world on Friday at 7:09 p.m. weighing 6 pounds, 6 oz and a nice 19 1/2 inches long. She is the FIRST girl in the family and has a half dozen boy cousins to keep any male suitors in check when she reaches dating age. We are thrilled that she has made it into this world safely and that her mom and her dad, my brother, are all well and excited to take on parenting.

Colds have prevented us from seeing her in person for a little while, but the picture of the new family speaks volumes. I could not be happier for my brother, he has found an awesome wife and now he has another woman in his life, his beautiful daughter. This is a long awaited and much anticipated moment in my brother’s life and I wish him nothing but all of the best. Parenthood is an awesome ride and he has always been an awesome uncle, I know he will make a great dad.

Welcome to the world, Emily! We love you!
