The mountains are starting to take on a definite twinge of color. There is the occasional tree that has completely exploded into yellow or orange or red. While it is not quite time to go leaf peeping, it is coming soon. For those of you who are not able to look out your windows and personally keep tabs on the foliage up here in Vermont but might be planning a trip or waiting for it to be “just right” for that trip – I thought that I would do a daily Foliage update.
These are the colors outside our door today, September 14th. (Which by the way is 10 days to my birthday – but I’m not counting or anything
)

And the famous view from the header of my blog:

See, there isn’t too much color around here, but when it goes, it will go fast. So…be prepared.

My birthday is one month and one day after yours. By then, the only leaves will be laying on the ground and looking brown. It really does go fast, and it’s my favorite time of the year.

I love leaf peeping season, endless lines of NJ license plates clogging all highways north. Cars that cost more than my house passing me on the shoulder of a two lane, at 90+mph while the flatscreen in the back plays “Sponge Bob” for the bored kids.
But we brave it all to Hang with the T’s around Tammy’s B-day, after all she is the oldest of the group, of “older than Dirt” as Timmy proclaims. Happy B-Day prematurely, I know I’m always premature, or was that immature, I can’t remember.
My favorite season of the year, I love the chill, the lack of bugs, the smell of decaying leaves and pumpkin guts, Hunting, snuggling with my kids. Fall could last all year (but who would clean up all the leaves)
